From the crazy-ass summer of 1973, when dozens of hours - probably over a hundred - of gloriously lo-fi recordings were made in Scott's basement, using a Sony mono cassette recorder with built-in condenser microphone. These have been compiled into a collage, which I feel retains a reasonably logical form - though, as a collage, sometimes things follow one another for no particular reason. Brief overdubs occur rarely (two or three times) although long crossfades sometimes create momentary "overdubs". I've constructed a handful of loops to act as segues; otherwise things are presented here as originally recorded. - GS, September 1, 2018

Personnel is complicated, as anyone might play anything at any given moment. People's primary contributions are Martin Bandyke: drums; Scott Brewer: bass, piano; Roger Shouse: voice, trumpet, tape loops; Gerald Siclovan: guitar, bass, alto sax (esp. the recurring melody). All sang. Guest performers: Mark Baker: voice (“bleib”); Bob Bemben: accordion; Frank Damiano: percussion; Mike Grofsorean: alto and tenor saxes, belt sander; Patricia Ramsey: occasional voice (a little talking, and she joined us on"Own A Piece Of The Rock").
